Question:
How do I check my Error Log?
Answer:

The dsmerror.log reports any problems with TSM. To check it:

  1. In the Finder, look in the folder that contains the TSM log files. (If you don't know where that is, see FAQ-MAC-31: Default TSM File Locations
  2. Double-click "dsmerror.log".
  3. Look at the last line in the "dsmerror.log" file.
  4. If there is an error with a recent timestamp on it, you are having trouble with TSM. E-mail the following files to us at ezbackup@cornell.edu (file locations detailed in FAQ-MAC-31: Default TSM File Locations):
    • dsm.sys
    • dsm.opt
    • dsmsched.log
    • dsmerror.log
    • dsmwebcli.log
